Im working from home and every end of shift i dont have anything to do, except for preparing dinner and cleaning my room. Im so tired of scrolling through my gadgets and easily get bored. Huhuh i hope your ideas will help me find a new hobby to look forward to every end of shift. Thank you!
Same as you do. What are the things that you are good at but is not motivated at doing anymore?
Normally, I’d have plans to either watch a movie or play videogames with friends. Typically, what I do after is to socialize with friends; so the actual activity is dependent on the people I hangout with.
If you want to find something new to do with your time after work, try to ask yourself what the purpose of it is. For me, I want to forget about work. And the fastest way for me to make that happen is to hangout with friends that also don’t want to talk about work. If you’re able to make clearer the goal of the activity, it might be easier to find something to do after work.
i love to write but lately ive been lazy to do it. But time to time i write my heart out just to breathe.
I appreciate this. Thank you so much it somehow give me a clearer view as to what i really want to do. Gosh thank youuuuuu
I go with my music playlist dance or YT for funny videos or news update then time flies soooo fast! Go to Starbucks or time with nature with safe people around…
Try walking! You can listen to a podcast or an audiobook while you complete your steps. I’m challenging myself to 10K steps daily for November
After a whole day of work, I like doing things that are quite far from my workspace; they’re not exactly hobbies but they vary from time to time so it’s fun for me. Usually, I would walk around my neighborhood, try a new recipe, video call a loved one, or check out one of my numerous writing prompts and write based on that.
The constant thing I do is to set a few minutes to mindfully detach myself and my mind from work. Sometimes, I do a breathing exercise while still in front of my workspace and as I gradually take off my headset, I remind myself that I’m leaving my work behind; I also take off all the things that I wore while working. I call this my time buffer and it gives me the opportunity to transition from “professional me” to just “me”.
